Our mission
We’re on a mission to make reproductive and sexual health the opposite of awkward. We take the eye-roll-y, head-in-the-sand stuff - periods, contraception, STIs, sex, cervical screenings, and turn it into simple, relatable and actually readable information you won’t immediately want to escape from. Just evidence-based info, told like a bestie who knows their stuff and doesn’t make it weird.
We’re here for the firsts, the freak-outs, the “should I Google this or will that ruin my day?” moments. And we’re here for everyone, not just the people with uteruses, but the partners, parents, and pals who want in on the conversation too!
Our why
The Sundays Health Movement exists to change how we talk about reproductive and sexual health, with less stigma, more honesty, and way more “I’ve got this” moments.
We’re building a new kind of health culture: one that actually makes you feel good about taking care of yourself. This isn’t the kind of health education that makes you squirm, snooze, or feel small. It’s the kind that makes you say, “Wowww, how amazing is the human body!?” and then send it straight to your group chat.
What we’re doing here:
Normalising the awkward stuff
First periods, weird discharge, pap smears, contraception fails, STI scares - it’s all part of the deal. We take the fear and embarrassment out of these moments and help you feel seen, informed, and a little more chill about it all.
Informed, not overwhelmed
We translate the clinical stuff into human language you can actually understand - without sugarcoating, scaremongering, or making it feel like a high school science class.
Trauma-informed
We believe everyone deserves to feel safe and supported, whether you’re navigating your own health, showing up for a friend, or working in the space. We create content and conversations that honour lived experience.
Making space for everyone
We centre young people who have a uterus, but we also welcome partners, parents, friends, and allies into the conversation. Because when more people understand reproductive and sexual health, we all benefit!
Our founder, Talani
Hey, I’m Talani! I wish I could say I was writing this in a boujee New York style lofy office, sipping a matcha, but I’ll be honest with you, I’m sitting pantsless on my bed with my cat Agave, flopped next to me. So really, I can’t complain it is a pretty good setup…relaxing. Some would say it’s easy like a Sunday morning. Ha! Welcome to the Sundays Health Movement. Where looking after your health is not boring.
To give you context, my background is in design, communications and advocacy. I have a Bachelor in Fashion Design and Masters in Sexology so I spend most of my time translating the complicated science-y stuff into something people actually want to read about and better yet, understand. I’m the Operations Director at Certification Oceania, the world’s first B Corp Certified, JAS-ANZ and IAF Accredited ISO Certification Body (lotta acronyms, I know), where we’re trying to do the unthinkable: make ISO certification sexy and use it as a tool for environmental and social change. As part of our giving back initiative through Certification Oceania, we are funding Sundays Health, a new kind of sexual and reproductive health education platform. Unconventional on purpose. Because educational resources are great…but if everyone’s hitting snooze by sentence two, what’s the point? We might not have the answers to every question, but we’re here to figure it out together and at the very least, validate how you’re feeling without judgment, personal bias, or an agenda.
In 2024, I had a LLETZ procedure that went from bad to worse, landing me in the resuscitation room fighting for my life. Many things led to that moment, but a big part was ignoring the warning signs, putting it down to “this is just what happens.” I minimised my pain, the bleeding and wrote off seeking help because this is just what women go through. This life-changing experience was the catalyst for launching Sundays Health.
We’re unapologetic, and we’ll always meet you where you’re at with empathy and compassion. This is your soft landing when you need it. A place where your emotional and physical needs are seen, heard, and taken seriously, a place where we can rewrite the health script together.
